All Buffs, Nerfs, and Adjustments in League of Legends Patch 14.14
It's officially time for Patch 14.14, as Riot Games returns from their week-long vacation and comes back to making changes to champions. We have a slew of buffs, nerfs, and adjustments, alongside two changes to items that we're going to be discussing! Here's what you need to know about Patch 14.14:
Nerfs
Nine Champions affected
First up, we're going to look at some nerfs. Most of these have been focused on Elite Play or higher (meaning Diamond 1 to Pro tiers) to reduce impact on the Champions and widen gameplay variety, especially in those tiers. The one Champion nerfed across the board was Tristana in mid. Here is everyone who was affected:
- Bel'veth (Jungle — Elite)
- Brand (Bot — Average & Skilled)
- Corki (Mid — Pro)
- Jax (Top — Skilled & Elite)
- Kindred (Jungle — Skilled)
- Lillia (Jungle — Average & Skilled)
- Rumble (Top — Pro)
- Tristana (Mid — Average, Skilled, Elite, & Pro)
- Zyra (Support — Average & Pro)
Buffs
Six Champions affected
Some weaker Champions have been brought under the Riot Games radar to see how they can improve their performance overall. Six total characters were affected, though the Patch Notes don't say where these nerfs are targeted (from lane to skill level), so we just have a basic list of characters changed for this one:
- Aphelios
- Cho'gath
- Jayce
- Sion
- Smolder
- Zed
Adjustments
Five Champions affected
Surprisingly, the Adjustments section was long this time around. For those new to League of Legends patches, this is the section where Riot Games tries to change something to encourage different forms of play or discourage others. Instead of a direct nerf or buff, it's more a redirection for the Champion — aprime example of this is Aurelion Sol's change, where the initial cost for Q has gone up exponentially to prevent tapping the ability for significant damage and encourages channelling, instead. We also saw a revert to some of Hecarim's changes from Season 13.
- Aurelion Sol
- Hecarim
- Irelia
- Milio
- Nidalee
Other
Both Warmog's Armor and Absorb Life have been adjusted, with direct nerfs in some areas and buffs to late-game benefits (at least to Absorb Life).
