Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX Brings the Master System Classic to Modern Systems
Before Sonic came along, spin-dashing onto the scene with his charm, speed and attitude, Alex Kidd was the SEGA mascot of choice. His 1987 European debut, Alex Kidd in Miracle World, was a Master System classic. Now, the iconic platformer returns to modern consoles with Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX. Announced during IGN's 10th June 'Summer of Gaming' show, Miracle World DX releases on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC and Switch in 2021. Check out the reveal trailer above.
Developer Jankenteam has improved the graphics, improved the controls, added new modes ('Classic Mode' and 'Boss Rush Mode' for example) and—most interestingly—added more content to the game. This is much, much more than a re-releases. Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is a fully-featured love letter to the mascot that put SEGA on the games industry map.
