AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES – nirvanA Initiative European Release Delayed
Developer Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd. and publisher Numbskull Games announced that AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES - nirvanA Initiative, the direct sequel to point-and-click adventure and puzzle game mix AI: The SOMNIUM FILES, will be delayed from its 24th June release date on 9th May. The delay will be exclusive to the European and Oceania releases. AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES - nirvanA Initiative is now set to release on 8th July in those regions.
While little information is available on the cause for the delay, a statement from the Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd. website mentions issues with shipping and manufacturing for the physical European and Oceania versions of the game. “Due to unforeseen manufacturing delays and global shipping slowdowns, Spike Chunsoft, Inc. and Numskull Games unfortunately must delay the European and Oceania release of this title across all platforms (Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One). To maintain parity, the digital releases for these regions will be delayed to July 8th as well.” Japanese and North American releases of AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES - nirvanA Initiative will be unaffected by the delay.
AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES - nirvanA Initiative is a murder mystery puzzle game and point-and-click adventure mix, similar to the game’s 2019 predecessor. The game follows Mizuki Okiura, a main character from the previous game, as she tries to solve the Half Body serial killings approximately six years after the first murder, as well as the first game. The game features many characters from AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES, such as Aiba and Boss, as well as new characters, such as secondary protagonist Kuruto Ryuki.
AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES - nirvanA Initiative will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on 24th June in Japan and North America and 8th July in Europe.
