Age of Empires II: HD to get a New Expansion Later this Year

Microsoft Studios has revealed that they are working with the Forgotten Empires team to create another expansion for Age of Empires II HD during a two year anniversary message yesterday.

Back in 2013, they decided to work with a group of community members to create Age of Empires II HD - The Forgotten with new features, civilizations, campaigns and Twitch integration. This was the first new official expansion to the Age of Empires II universe in over 10 years.

There will be new civilizations, units, campaigns, game modes and more. If the Forgotten expansion is anything to go by, players can expect lots of high quality content being added in this upcoming expansion. For now, a teaser of a camel archer screenshot has been released, with more promised to follow in developer blogs throughout the year.

The expansion is expected to arrive later this year.
