Access-Ability Summer Showcase 2024: Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan

Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan is developed by ManaVoid Entertainment. In the Access-Ability Summer Showcase, Rainbow Billy's accessibility features were highlighted, especially regarding how they tackle colour blindness.

Alexis, the game's technical director, is colour blind himself, so he was able to incorporate how to tackle this in a world where you recolour the world of imagination. Each colour represents a different emotion, and so each one will also have a symbol to identify each one.

Items to interact with are always animated and highlighted with colour too. They use forced perspective to allow ease of use with a single joystick, and the camera will rotate to assist with puzzles and secrets.

To ensure no one feels left out, Friendship, Billy's ship, will always point in the direction of your current objective. Each objective can also be found in the compass and map, both being accessible at any point. With no time limit or fail state, there is no pressure to feel stress if you don't succeed at first. So, it will ensure Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan has a relaxing experience when you play it.

They have also ensured an open dyslexic front to ensure it's not difficult to read, and this can be toggled in the settings with the voice settings and font speed. You can find out more about Rainbow Billy: Curse of the Leviathan by checking out their Steam page.
