A Resident Evil Re:Verse Open Beta Kicks Off the Franchise's 25th Anniversary Celebrations
It's the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil, one of gaming's most iconic franchises and one of the biggest names in horror media. In celebration of the zombie series' 25th anniversary, Capcom has announced a series of celebratory events set to take place over the coming months, starting with an open beta for Resident Evil Re:Verse, the planned multiplayer bonus game for Resident Evil Village.
On this day 25 years ago, the doors of the Spencer estate swung open as Biohazard 1 released in Japan - dawning a new era for survival horror games.

The open beta for Resident Evil Re:Verse (trailer above) will be available from the 8th - 12th April on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam. Players who participated in the earlier closed beta will be able to use the same launcher, albeit with an update which will release alongside the open beta's launch.
Capcom will release more news regarding Resident Evil Village in April as part of a Resident Evil Showcase digital event. More footage of the upcoming game has been confirmed for the event alongside more developments for the franchise's 25th anniversary.
The Resident Evil Re:Verse open beta will run from the 8th - 12th April on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Resident Evil Village will release on the 7th May for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Stadia.
