2017 Will be the Wormiest Year Yet
Team 17 have shared their vision for Worms W.M.D over the next year, and it's set to be a big one. If you thought that the release of the game a few months ago marked the end of the journey, then you're in for a surprise, as the Sheffield based indie publisher are planning a roadmap for a whole year of new content for their explosive couch co-op title.
In a post on their Steam community for the game, the developer advised how the order of content was arrived at in collaboration with fan feedback. For example, AI players in online multiplayer was a much-requested feature, so this has been prioritised for Q1, up from an initial plan of Q2.
Other features in Q1 includes cross platform play between PC, Mac and Linux, as well a relaunch of the ranked mode. This brings with it an improved matchmaking system and new loading screens. There's a fort mode coming and Steam workshop Support for custom hats.
Plans so far for the rest of the year include:
- Q2 will see the introduction of a building editor on the Steam Workshop and a new theme. There's extra hats coming, because Team 17 are all about the hats, and an increased level cap.
- Q3 brings a sound editor to Steam Workshop and a summer customisation pack (as well as more hats).
- Q4 brings another new theme, holiday customisations and, you guessed it, more hats. Hats are great!
