HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Mouse Review
The HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Mouse has become the latest addition to my desk since my previous (wireless) mouse decided it required percussive starting. Speaking of wireless, this one is wired and I’d like to warn consumers to be cautious as HyperX has multiple “Pulsefire Haste 2” products, so be sure which one you’re buying.
Included in the box are replacement skates, and three bits of Grip Tape. One for the side, and two for both buttons, though I only attached one for the left button. I found the mouse a bit slippery in my hand, maybe not helped by it being lower down than my old mouse, but I found that applying the grip tape improved my control significantly.
Weighing just 53g, the Pulsefire Haste 2 is incredibly lightweight, making it ideal for gamers who value speed and precision. This is definitely aided by the 26K Sensor, whether you're navigating intricate game landscapes or lining up a shot, this sensor delivers outstanding performance. With an 8000Hz polling rate, the mouse is really responsive.
The HyperFlex 2 Cable is both flexible and durable, eliminating the common issue of cable drag. I was relieved to find that the cable doesn’t hinder gameplay, even during intense sessions. Unfortunately, the custom HyperX switches provide a click that is noticeably louder than my old mouse, however, I have had fewer “ghost” clicks.
I’ll just note that the Haste 2 might not be suitable for those with thalassophobia, as the underside has lots of holes. They’re covered by a sticker, but said sticker isn’t entirely opaque. It was probably done to bring the weight down that extra gram or two, but I know how badly some people feel about holes.
Overall, the HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Mouse is a good choice for average gamers looking for something ultra-lightweight, high precision, and with impressive responsiveness. While the grip may initially require some adjustment with the tape, and the clicks might be louder than some prefer, these are minor considerations in light of the mouse's overall performance. If you're in the market for a new gaming mouse, the Pulsefire Haste 2 is definitely worth considering.

A decent mouse with a slightly confusing name.
