Why I’m Excited About Date Everything!

Why I’m Excited About Date Everything!

I have always been partial to a good dating sim, and the idea of Date Everything!is one that I can’t stop finding hilarious. While most dating sims have limits on how many characters you can date, there are 100 for you to go out with in this one.

After all, this is a game where every single household appliance/existential dread/inanimate object is brought to life. Best of all, they’re all fully voice-acted with a massive cast of famous voice actors. Of course, I was already going to be excited about it, especially since the developers of Sassy Chap Games consist of some of my favourite voice actors, including Robbie Daymond (Goro Akechi in Persona 5), Max Mittelman (Ryuji Sakamoto in Persona 5), Ray Chase (Noctis in Final Fantasy XV) and Amanda Hufford (who I first heard of from Masako X’s Dragon Ball R&R AU Podcast, where she played Launch), so let’s be honest, this has already inspired quite a great deal of joy in me.

But then, it could only get better. In Date Everything! you just lost your job to AI and so you’re sent these glasses that allow everything in your house to come to life. When they said that there would be three endings for each character? Well, I was only going to get hooked. Each character has their own individual design, and then, they just had to go and announce even more voice actors to be a part of it.

Personally, I need to take more time to appreciate more of my favourite voice actors joining the project, and what they’re playing. Of course, all the developers appear to have a role in the game themselves as voice actors, which isn’t surprising. However, I’ve especially appreciated the number of other voice actors they’ve brought in. I was already excited when I heard about Johnny Yong Bosch (of Mighty Morphin! Power Rangers and BLEACH fame), SungWon Cho (Mordecai from Lackadaisy and personally, one of my favourite content creators on YouTube as ProZD) and when they announced Ben Starr? (Clive Rosfield of Final Fantasy XVI and just all-around lovely human being?) Well, they were already going to get my money, but at this point, it will take over my life.

Naturally, these aren’t all the voice actors. After all, I haven’t even got around to Laura Bailey (Vex from Critical Role/The Legend of Vox Machina), Zeno Robinson (Hawks from My Hero Academia), Jonah Scott (Legoshi from Beastars), Adam MacArthur (Yuji Itadori from Jujutsu Kaisen), Felicia Day (Charlie in Supernatural), Erica Lindbeck (Jessie in Final Fantasy VII Remake), and so many more.

The fact that each character has their own unique design and that this game falls under the description of ridiculous shenanigans? Well, I’ll be honest, I can’t wait for Valentine’s Day when Date Everything! is released on Steam and consoles.
