Top 5 Anticipated E3 Games 2015
So E3 has been and gone, with it comes a multitude of games that fans are eager to get their hands on. There were highs and lows during the conferences but E3 ended by leaving an impression of strong titles coming to gamers in the near future. Here are my top 5 most anticipated E3 games.
5. Doom
Much like Wolfenstein:The New Order, Doom represents a throwback to older shooters where strafing and dodging attacks were more important than taking cover. The gameplay shown of Doom during Bethesda's conference was a spectacular combination of fast-paced, bullet blasting mayhem. The addition of the chainsaw towards the end of the trailer added a grisly reminder of why Doom is looking to be a particularly brutal experience and the new melee finishing moves add a new gameplay element, even if it was overdone a bit. Add a multiplayer mode and a map editor where you can share your custom creations and Doom looks to be a full package.
4. Dreams
I don't know why I can't stop thinking about Dreams, Media Molecule’s new game where players can create imaginative dream sequences and share them online with others. I've never been a big fan of LittleBigPlanet, nor have I ever been invested in creation tools in games. Nevertheless Dreams offers a surreal experience where your imagination can flourish and create amazing or sinister landscapes. Media Molecule say that making these dreams will be quick and intuitive and hopefully players like myself will be able to easily invest in Dreams. The art style looks splendid, like a moving painting and I think it adds a lot to the overall aesthetic. Being able to explore other player's creations sounds wonderful as well and I can definitely see myself spending hours exploring the minds of others.
3. Gears of War Remastered
The inclusion of a remaster may sound almost pointless but Gears of War was the defining reason why I bought an Xbox 360. I must have completed the campaign over a dozen times and to me Gears of War is probably my favourite game to play co-operatively. The multiplayer was a great combination of squad-based combat and tense encounters where every death had an impact. With a release date of the 25th of August, Gears of War Remastered might finally make me purchase an Xbox One.
2. Fallout 4
It's finally here, well almost. With an approaching November release date Fallout 4 can't come quickly enough. I don't know how long I played Fallout 3 for but my time spent playing that game was probably detrimental to my health. There are so many new features in Fallout 4 that sound amazing. First off the character creation looks like a notable step up from previous games and the fact that the male and female features determine your child's appearance is a unique inclusion. The ability to build your own settlements adds another personal feature for players and the crafting system sounds in depth. The new art style still retains Fallout's signature look but it now appears brighter and more characteristic. Mod support for consoles will be included and this is going to seriously ramp up the hours playing Fallout 4. I just hope that with Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas being particularly buggy Fallout 4 isn't plagued by similar issues.
1. No Man's Sky
No Man's Sky is a game that I don't want to know much about because the concept has already sold me. The procedurally generated game that spawns millions of planets for the player to explore should be interesting enough to warrant attention from the majority of gamers. Details have been sparse on the game but what we do know makes No Man's Sky sound like a gaming explorer's dream. The open-ended nature of the game tasks players with getting to the centre of the universe but that's about as much of an objective as you have. You can upgrade your ship, suit and weapons and find blueprints for crafting. All of these things allow you to travel further towards the centre of the galaxy where danger lurks. But I'm not interested in that. I'm interested in exploring the universe as I see fit, creating an adventure that I can discuss with friends and then listening to what happened to them during the game. It's a game that should offer countless stories for people to tell and hopefully the game is cohesive and dynamic enough to make it as exceptional as it sounds.

I was quite happy with a lot of the showings. Sea of Thieves and Cuphead look really fun and I'm happy Dishnoured 2 has been announced.
