Top 10 Sexiest Game Characters

There are some pretty sexy game characters out there, and enough list articles on the subject to make you weep. Unfortunately it always seems like the same people on these lists, over and over! Here's my top 10 sexiest game characters and my reasoning behind each one. Hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised. (These are in no particular order.)

 

10. Lulu (FFX):

Lulu is by far one of my favourite characters in Final Fantasy. Her striking, dark sultry appearance is definitely a huge factor in her getting onto this list, however there is so much more to her that just oozes sexiness. She is super intelligent, not willing to follow everyone else’s beliefs like a sheep. No, instead she is extremely open-minded and accepting despite her initial cold demeanour. She is actually a very caring character, and the way she watches over her fellow companion shows that she has a nice soft and gooey inside. All these things, combined with her ultra-sexy voice and often sarcastic delivery, make her a no-brainer for this list.

 

9. Morrigan (Dragon Age)

I am personally not a big fan of Morrigan. I think her character is manipulative, superior and although this might be due to a damaged upbringing, I can’t quite seem to warm to her. Of all the characters that the Warden travels with in Dragon Age: Origins, she shows the least growth. Yes she becomes nicer, but right up until the end all she is concerned with is her own agenda, and ultimately I am always left with the feeling that whilst she does care a little about me (yes the Warden is me, sshh), she cares a LOT more about herself.

The reason why she makes this list is not because she is incredibly beautiful, no, it’s because of her voice, or rather the voice of Claudia Black. I am of the opinion that Claudia Black easily has the sexiest voice in the world, and if she had been the vocal chords behind the Darkspawn broodmother she still would have made the list. So whilst we’re here you might as well count every other game character she has voiced, ever.

 

8. Zevran (Dragon Age)

Now Zevran is the best character in a Dragon Age game to date. Whilst I’m sure that will anger a lot of Alistair and Isabella fans, I don’t care; he is sexy as hell. Zevran is cocky, confident, charming and all the “c” words that would win you over. He stole my heart within seconds of him meeting the Warden. For me there is never really any other romance in Dragon Age: Origins that is as honest as the one between the protagonist and Zevran. They are equals, and watching him struggling with his confusing emotions as he slowly realises he’s falling for you is undeniably touching. I love Zevran, sheer utter love.

 

7. Lady Sylvanas (WoW)

There are plenty of sexy ladies and gents in World of Warcraft, but Lady Sylvanas is EASILY the sexiest. Like no one else even has a patch on her. The murdered high-elf-turned-leader of the Forsaken is not only beautiful (yes even in death/undeath), but is an absolute military genius. She rebels against the evil Lich King determined to gain freedom for her adopted people.

Quite frankly she looks like she could kill you with one quick stare from her soul-piercing eyes, and something about that is just, well damn hot.

 

6. April Ryan (The Longest Journey)

Yes I’m writing about The Longest Journey again. No I will not stop until everyone has played it. And with characters as sexy and witty as April Ryan, why the hell would you not? April is a highly intellectual, artistic individual who doesn’t take shit from anyone. She has an answer for everything, putting people who underestimate her in their place before they can say “Arcadia”.

The way she handles the crazy events that take place in the game, and her development as she realises her destiny is a journey both incredible and humbling to behold. Of course it is the impeccable writing behind the character that has successfully made her a sexy, powerful woman, and to be honest, a real role model, so well done Ragnar Tørnquist and co., well done.

 

5. Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Assassin's Creed)

Honestly, it was difficult not to put up every character that Desmond Miles embodies in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Somehow, he always seems to be fortunate enough to live the lives of extremely attractive men. However, there is one that just stands out (ironically) that little bit more from the rest and he is Ezio.

I’m not sure whether it’s his smooth Italian accent, his fierce loyalty to his family, or the passion with which he does everything, but his presence on screen is obvious. I know I could quite easily be swept off my feet by him and be sublimely happy about it.

 

4. Jodie (Beyond: two souls)

Jodie is a little different from the others. I wasn't overly sure about including her on this list because her character is a little too awkward to be comfortably described as “sexy”. However, the personal journey that you are led on alongside her adds a familiarity and fondness for Jodie that makes dismissing her entirely just wrong.

Her bravery throughout the difficult and nearly always traumatic events that take place in Beyond: Two Souls is admirable, and as we follow her erratic journey through life it is almost impossible to not fall in love with her. I know I certainly did. Of course it helps that she looks and sounds like Ellen Page (another lady crush of mine), so with that in mind she deserves her spot on my list.

 

3. Cortana (Halo)

Cortana has always been that familiar, soothing voice, comforting and guiding me on my adventures in the Halo universe. The vast intelligence that accompanies her AI format means that she is way, WAY smarter than you, in ways that you probably can’t even imagine. But rather than being intimidating, it makes her seem reassuring and she always seems so confident in your abilities.

Personally I found that her relationship with Master Chief, especially in Halo 4, made her even more beautiful. Something about the flawless becoming flawed and her selflessness within the plot progression just made me fall for her even more.

2. Law (Tekken)

Why is Law in this list? Hmm I don’t know. Maybe it’s got something to do with the fact that he’s a ripped, topless, Bruce Lee lookalike? And those moves? That backflip kick. Damn, that shit is hot. He manages to have the shoulders of a Viking, but is still agile like a freaking cat.

On top of all of that, he has a family and was a successful businessman with ambition and he always came across as one of the more noble Tekken characters, like an ass-kicking Atticus Finch.

 

1. Sephiroth (Final Fantasy)

Sephiroth is, in my opinion, easily the sexiest game character of all time, by a landslide. Ultimate super-villain and power-hungry, world-dominating tendencies aside he’s not all evil... really. He’s only trying to fulfill his destiny after all, so he’s just determined and motivated, right?

With his long platinum hair, ice-cold seductive stare and cheekbones that should only belong to the supernatural, he has the kind of ambiguous, sexual appeal of Angelina Jolie or Johnny Depp. Parentage in mind, he’s the only (half) alien to make the list, so kudos to him!
