Time Loader: What is Behind the QR Code and How to Get the Secret Ending
In Time Loader, if you’ve played through the game you found the QR code in Adam’s computer and were likely confused about how to proceed. Well, fear no more, for we’re here to help you! Be warned; this article contains many spoilers!
Time Loader is a small and charming game, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t packed with a lot of content. It took us just four hours to pass our first playthrough only to find out the game has multiple endings, and moreover, a secret one!
Pursuing the QR Code that appears on ACT 2 takes you to the site robotcaptcha.com, which will be asking you for a captcha code and a bunch of suspiciously familiar symbols. If you didn’t catch it already, these are all of the symbols you can be acquiring through your journey. If you missed one, don’t panic! The game has actually incorporated a chapter select (which we adore) that allows you to go back in time and pick up anything that you might have missed, while also allowing you to alter the future and get one of the three main endings.
Guide to get all of the symbols
If you want to get all of the symbols and follow along, that’s great! It’ll net you several achievements along your travels, and enhance your gameplay. However, if you just want the answer to the captcha, skip this next part!
There are a total of 10 symbols throughout the game that are numbered from 0–9.
ACT 1
In the garage after getting the screwdriver, unscrew the shelf, click the button that raises the hook and hold on for dear life. After reaching the top, head right until you find a wrench, turn it around, and symbol #1 should be there.
In the kitchen revisit, when on top of the microwave, walk through the top of the blue open door, and you can unscrew the grate; not doing this will lock out a symbol in ACT 2.
In the laundry room, get on top of the table to the left of the washing machine, jump on top of the clothes and jump left onto the basket. There, you will find a soap, and after turning it around, you should find symbol #6.
In the rooftops before entering the small window, jump on top of the bird’s nest, continue left until you are prompted to interact. Knocking this over will give the plant light. Not doing this will lock out a symbol in ACT 2.
In the attic, nudge the football by standing on top of it. Interact with the cassette tape and behind it should be symbol #5.
ACT 2
In the basement, after climbing through the kayak, jump left and continue going left to the very top until you find a mug; below it should be symbol #0.
Remember the grate we spoke about in ACT 1? In the kitchen, after dropping and reaching the part of the drawers, push the top drawer and jump on top of it, then jump on top of the pan and jump left toward the cabinet. Jump through the blue cabinet door and enter the room. Push the time capsule with the item that is there, open it to reveal a letter that Adam wrote for himself and symbol #2.
After grabbing symbol #2, proceed to the left from the exit by grabbing onto the hanging cables and swinging to the other side. Do this again with the clock to interact with the picture frame. In the back, you should find symbol #8.
In the laundry room, after turning on the lights and using the clothes basket to swing across, don’t use the zipline but instead jump down and continue left to find the safe. Use the code from the safe, 5591, to open it and find a contract between Adam and his father; stamped on it is symbol #9.
After entering the attic, continue right and jump on top of the rocking chair. There, you should be able to jump on top of the lamp and then swing across a vine. Push the bird cage with the baseball, then go up the plank, drop down and pull the yellow car as much as you can. Go back up, down the plank and inspect the ball; there you will find symbol #7.
ACT 3
In the garage, after opening the car trunk continue going left through the roof of the car until you reach some tickets. Symbol #4 should be there.
In the parent’s room, after grabbing the ball continue going left until you can harpoon up to a drawer, where you will find a ticket with symbol #3.
After getting all of these, you should be done and ready! Along with all of the juicy achievements for each of the collectibles, you should now have access to all of the symbols in numerical order from 0-9 in your map menu.
The Captcha Code

So, we got all of the symbols, and in front of us is a screen with all of the symbols, a captcha, and a button that says “I AM A ROBOT.”
Take a look at all of the symbols; they are in a different order than they are in-game. Head into your menu and write down all of the symbols in the order they appear in the captcha. This captcha changes according to how many times you reset the site. Just take a look at the screencap below and fill in the numbers of the symbols in the order they appear on your captcha!
Binary Code and What To Do
You will be met with a binary code of 25 different characters. We went ahead and did the arduous task of translating these for you, and it will spell out: Secret password: “528491”
What do you do with this password? Well, you need to enter the password to access the server in the shed. To do this, we’ll have to roll back all the way to ACT 1 in the basement, and head left until you find the leaking water; interacting with it will allow you to tighten it and stop the leak. Continue down the level until you get to an auto-save point and you can safely exit.
Next, you’ll need to go to ACT 2, to the basement again. If you did it correctly, the place shouldn’t be flooded, allowing you to go left. Raise the table by interacting at the bottom of it, and it should jam. A science magazine should be there with a password which you won’t have to memorise because the robot should do it himself. Continue forward until an auto-save triggers, and then you can safely exit.
In ACT 2 in Adam’s room, if you got the password from the magazine you can enter the password protected folders. Make sure to enter D_ANTIVR and interact with antivir.exe. Proceed to a checkpoint and exit.
In ACT 3, in Adam’s room again, interact with the computer and use the antivirus scan to get rid of the iloveyou trojan. After gaining access to it, make sure to get the code by entering IBNSYS and then interact with codetab.asa.
In the basement after turning on the lights, you can jump to the right where the magazine is. Keep moving right past it until you reach the IBM 5100 (or the ICN 5101 in this case) which the AI will comment on, saying “this belongs in a museum.” He will connect to it and mention that there’s something in the shed that’s important. So, can you take a guess at what our next step is?
That’s right! After finally following this long string of events, after reaching the shed, you can interact with the old computer to the right and it will pop up a server. Here, you have to enter the password we got earlier. As a refresher, it’s 528491, and you will unlock the secret ending, along with a handy-dandy achievement.
