The creative process can be a fickle thing, with inspiration visiting or abandoning you at the worst time, like when writing a 12-point silly little article based on a song! While I jest in general, for some creative minds, having a block can be devastating and even financially ruinous, as Alan Wake found out himself one rainy afternoon. While trying to get the creative juices flowing in a lakeside cabin, the woeful writer found himself embroiled in a clash of worlds and forces far beyond his ken. And his flashlight was out of batteries
With the recent release of the sequel, Alan Wake II, it may be as good a time as any to dive into the literary madness of the series! You can check out the beginnings with the first title, Alan Wake, see the now kind of canon sequel Alan Wake's American Nightmare, or even try out the tangentially related Control! You can also start from the (current) end of Alan Wake II, and work your way backwards, which fits the themes of the series as well as anything. Whichever flavour of cosmic horror you choose, there are most certainly many experiences to be had and twists to be faced!
And there we have it, the final day of Gamesmas has dawned, and now we rest. Thank you for joining us on this little journey. We hope you found a few new games to consider, old favourites to reinstall, or at least enjoyed our rendition of the classic song! From all of us at GameGrin, we wish you a great start to the year and many good turns to come. Now SING IT WITH ME! On the first day of Gamesmas, wise GameGrin gave to me…
