T-Pose's: T-Poll - RESULTS Overwatch 2 Skin Comparisons
Welcome to T-Poll! A little ballot box filled to the brim with your opinions and preferences on whatever the topic of the day is!
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Overwatch, we’ve taken all the new looks from the upcoming sequel that Blizzard Entertainment has shown-off thus far - and let the public decide whether or not the hero’s vintage styles were better, or if the glow-up is real!
Mei’s Overwatch 2 revision had the least amount of votes with only 12.5% of people preferring the new look. Jessica conveyed the general consensus of all the responses given about Mei’s redesign:
“Original Mei is definitely the better design here! I always loved the fact that Mei is quite curvy, and the utility belt gives her so much more shape - taking that away just doesn't look good. I also loved the detail in the design of her gloves, with the heart shape, and the little nod to her Chinese heritage with the hairpin. All of this is taken away in the new design and it really makes it feel lackluster.”
Though more people unanimously preferred certain outfits from the original series, the new designs seem to have garnered a consistent range of interest. Both Pharah and Tracer adaptations netted three-quarters of the poll.
Erin breaks down the improvements made on Pharah’s combat gear:
“Both armour sets are really nice, but I just have to give it to the new set. The splashes of white honestly make Pharah look more birdlike, as though they were undersides or gaps in armour or something. The little bit of gold at the knees also helps to make her avoid looking like a mass of blue. Pharah also has the benefit of having the only new visor that I don't hate!”
Meanwhile, Emsey sums up the appeal of Tracer 2.0 best with:
“THICC TRACER”
We had two heroes who had looks that divided the voters straight down the middle. The difference between Reinhardt & Lúcio was fairly minimal, but still managed to split the poll. In the case of Reinhardt, some preferred the rounder, yellower, and beardier revision, and others favouring the classic sharp, medieval look. On the other hand, Gorzagorz brings up a good point:
“All that hair will inevitably get caught on something. With age comes wisdom, but sometimes age comes alone.”
However, when it came down to the total amount of votes between the 11 original outfits versus the sequels’ super-suits - Overwatch 2 led the charge with a 5.1% difference!
Thank you to everyone who participated in this poll - We’d love to hear your opinions on the default skins in the comments, and we hope to see you cast your vote next time on T-Poll!
