So I Tried… Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Each edition of So I Tried… I will try a game that I have never tried before. Will I find something new to love? Will I find something new to despise? I'll take a full half hour, no matter how bad it gets or how badly I do, to see if this is the game for me. This time I went for the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
What I thought it was
Okay, so this is a cheat because I knew exactly what it was, so we’ll skip to that part. I played the first game, so sue me. Of course, I was late to Marvel's Spider-Man, because I’m cheap, but having hesitated to also buy Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales I managed to wait long enough for it to come to PC. And as everyone knows, PC games are cheaper.
What it actually is
Taking on the role of a new Spider-Man, mentee to the original Spider-Man, a bungled prisoner transfer results in New York once more being flooded with ne'er-do-wells. Then the original Spider-Man goes on holiday because it’s Christmas and New York is covered in snow. So, it’s up to Miles to return peace to one and all as New York’s only Spider-Man!
Will I keep playing
Heck yeah, I really enjoyed the first 30 minutes so I’m definitely diving back in as soon as I can. The web swinging is smooth, the combat is fun with a different range of moves, the writing is excellent… Just this amazing bit of the game has actually increased my hype for a spectacular Marvel's Spider-Man 2, so you just know that the full game is going to have me crawling up the walls of my friendly neighbourhood.
