How to Play Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty

The President’s orbital shuttle has been shot down presumably by ninjas, are you a bad enough cyberpunk to rescue the President? Head into Pacifica’s walled-off Dogtown for the spy thriller Phantom Liberty, the expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 and find out.

But, like, how do you even get the new content? This has been something that CD Projekt RED hasn’t really gone into detail, so if you’re holding off on buying it until you find out, read on!

Short Version

If you know who Johnny Silverhands is after the mission “Transmission” in Act 2, you’ll be able to start Phantom Liberty.

Long Version

You can start a new game from the very beginning, and unlock Phantom Liberty when you reach that point in Act 2. Or, you can jump ahead and go straight into Phantom Liberty instead!

That second option lets you customise V, then sets you at level 20 with pre-selected perk points. You’re placed in Pacifica sometime after Act 1, and can reset your attributes one time for free so that you have things the way you like them.

Just select the mission “Phantom Liberty” in your journal, and get going to Pacifica. Simple and effective.

Now you have access to about 30 new missions, quests, and gigs, more clothes, vehicles and weapons, and some bosses to battle!

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is available for PC, Xbox X|S and PlayStation 5. The expansion is not available for the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 versions.
