How to Get the Dazzling Stone in KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX
- Where can yu get it? Neverland
- When should you farm it? Late into the game
The Dazzling Stone is located in Neverland, and though it's not one of the hardest Stones to get by a longshot, it can be a bit frustrating and irritating... because the enemy will drain all of your Munny!
One thing I'd like to preface this guide with is that you absolutely need Treasure Magnet on as many people as you can, and this is pretty much non-negotiable! Every hit will cost Munny, and even more painfully so. When you do manage to get the item, since you're in Neverland and the enemy flies around, there is a very high likelihood that it'll fall into the water if you don't have these abilities equipped. You have been warned!
Ideally, by this point, you have so much Munny that you won't mind losing out on about 1,000 per encounter because that's liable to happen, and it's going to hurt. The Dazzling Stone is dropped by none other than the chonkster Jet Balloon, which is basically three Heartless holding on to a fourth, much fatter Heartless that has the properties of a balloon and flies around...
...really, really fast.
Thankfully, the only thing you'll need to do is have the power of believing in yourself and in flight — literally and figuratively. In Neverland, Sora, Donald, and Goofy can all fly with the power of believing, and you'll need to fly behind the Jet Balloon as quickly as you can to deal damage to it. Once it's found a place, it'll start shooting wave after wave of Heartless at you, and each one of them will make you drop your Munny quite fast (which is why you end up losing about 1,000 per encounter).
You can't fly straight at the Jet Balloon because you'll take damage on the way. Stop isn't very effective against it, so I wouldn't really recommend wasting your MP on it — instead, use Aeroga (which you can acquire right there in Neverland if you don't have it) to deflect the Heartless that the Jet Balloon shoots at you. If you run out of MP, then take the safe route and go below the Jet Balloon, as the forward momentum will ensure you're getting closer, but your downward speed will stop you from getting hit.
Once you're near it, it's time to beat it up until it runs away, and then the process repeats. There isn't a science to this fight at all — you'll want to get as close as you can and fight it. Once you do defeat it, if you’ve followed my warning in the preface of the article, you'll have used your Treasure Magnet to scoop up your reward, and if you have more than 100 Munny, you have a 100% chance of getting it, with a 20% chance of getting double loot.
This is why you don't want to fight it until you have a lot of Munny — you could take your chances having 0 Munny, so you can't have a penalty for getting hit, but I'd rather lose a fair share of it and ensure a Dazzling Stone drop. Bonus points if you get two, as you don't need that many, and this fight is not difficult but more frustrating than not.
