How to Get the Blazing Stone in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
Where can you get it? Halloween Town
When should you farm it? After Hollow Bastion
The Blazing Stone is one of the easier stones to get in the game, as its strategy is pretty self-explanatory. That said, considering Halloween Town is a mid-to-end-game section, the enemies can be a little more challenging. Due to this, it's up to you whether you farm the Blazing Stone before Hollow Bastion, where you'll be near the level of the enemies, or after it, where you'll be able to one-shot most mobs. Despite the fact that you don't want to kill the Chimera too quickly, farming the stone after Hollow Bastion has different merits and benefits than farming it before, and I had more success farming after I went to Hollow Bastion.
But before we get to the technicals, let's discuss where and how. Halloween Town is a relatively small world, so getting to the boss won't be too difficult, and better yet, its spawn rate is 100% (no needless farms and grinds like for the Fury Stone — curse you, Wonderland!). The Chimera (the Heartless you'll need to fight) spawns in the place where you fight Oogie Boogie; the route isn't super accessible, and there are a fair share of Heartless along the way, which is why it's lucky that the Chimera is a guaranteed spawn.
Once you've gotten to his spawn place, jump down, where you'll have to fight two waves of Wight Knights, and then the Chimera will come from the sky, causing a shockwave in its landing space. This is where the fight starts.
The Chimera is a pretty simple enemy to fight, and honestly, it was the easiest of all of the enemies. Lower its life until you kill it, and it'll drop on the ground with three balls flying around: green, yellow, and red. It's at this point that the farm begins, as you'll want to bounce the balls back to the Chimera by hitting them with your keyblade and the more you do this, the higher the chance of getting a Blazing Stone will be; in fact, the very orbs have a chance of dropping the stone.
Before Hollow Bastion, I was able to beat up the boss and keep dealing damage using the large aerial attacks to hit all orbs by timing it correctly to return them. Once you get hit by all three of the orbs, the Chimera gets back up, and it's back to phase one of the fight, repeating until either the Chimera drops or the Blazing Stone does.
If you've already gone to Hollow Bastion and have too much damage to attack the Chimera head-on without dealing significant damage to its health, what you can do instead is reduce your STR as much as possible. I went with an STR-focused build when I played the game, so I opted to select Spellbinder Keyblade despite not having the lowest STR because it gives me accessibility to cast more magic. I would burst the boss in the summoning stage (where it calls for four gargoyles), back down to a safe distance, and then cast Thunder to kill it (neither Donald nor Goofy can down the Chimera).
This technique was the most fruitful for me, as the chances of getting hit by the orbs are much lower if you're not close to the Chimera when it gets stunned. It requires more careful timing and feels less like a button mash, but doing this gets you more Blazing Stones in the long run; I completed my personal farm rather quickly because it dropped Blazing Stones during the orb section.
Once you have defeated the Chimera, it's not as simple as going out and coming back in — I found more success respawning the Chimera by going back to the beginning of the world, saving, and then going back to Oogie Boogie's spot. It may be longer and has even more Heartless on the way, but it's an excellent way to ensure a respawn.
