How Accessible is Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty?
Accessibility in games has been getting better as of late, so you might be wondering how it is in the latest titles. In this article I’ll go over the accessibility options available in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty!
To be absolutely blunt, there are none. You can change the size of the words in menus and adjust the music, voices, and sound effect volumes independently, but that’s the limit.
There are five options for the controller layout, or keyboard with and without mouse. You can change most of the keys on the keyboard, but nothing else is customisable.
There are no subtitle options other than Show or Hide and whether it tells you who is speaking or not. There are no colourblind options at all. There are no difficulty options even when you start a new game, and you’re only given an (optional) extensive tutorial if you keep dying.
If you want to argue that this type of game shouldn’t have a way to make it more accessible for people to enjoy it, take a look at Steelrising and its Assist Mode. Heck, despite that being light on options, at least you could change the size of the in-game subtitles.
So there you have it, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s lack of accessibility options. I hope that helps you play!
