Halloween Handheld Horrors (Games, Updates and Events)

Every year we are tricked and treated by game devs to get us in the mood for the spooky season. This year of course is no different. Here is a small selection of handheld games you can find with a Halloween theme, update or event in-tow.

Simpsons Tapped Out - iOS, Android, Amazon

The Simpsons know Halloween all too well and in the latest Tapped Out update you have to fend off Riglian aliens from you and your friend’s towns. Squish aliens that are taking over Springfield with a satisfying tap and earn yourself probes, ray guns and and extra items used to craft limited edition prizes along the Halloween period.

Send out Grem-Aliens into your friend’s towns to raid buildings and earn even more items to boost your chances of attaining the best prizes. Plus, watch out for spaceships flying over their towns; shoot them down and earn even more items.

New characters, buildings and outfits are all there for the taking and you can even compete with your friends on the leaderboard to see who has squashed the most aliens.

Pro Tip - Keep an eye out for the quiz question within the Halloween storyline as you can earn a tasty 10 Donuts if you answer it correctly first time.

Pokémon X/Y - Nintendo 3DS/2DS

Spooky looking Pokémon are common place throughout the Pokémon universe and with this ghoulish giveaway, you can spook some unsuspecting trainers as you travel around the Unova region.

Pop into any GAME store and you can pick up a code for a Shiny Gengar holding a Gengarite - allowing it to transform into its mega evolution - Mega Gengar! But that’s not all, it may look the same before you mega evolve it but Gengar turns a creepy exclusive white colour once it reacts to your trainer’s mega-ring!

The giveaway is on from now until November 5th, so pop-in whilst you can to grab your free Shiny Mega Gengar!

Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Nintendo 3DS/2DS

If you missed it last year then you have another chance - Animal Crossing: New Leaf’s Halloween Event is ongoing now! You can grab some autumnal Spooky Furniture for your house just in-time for Halloween.

Jack will be on the prowl around your village giving you chances to get as much of the special furniture as possible by scaring fellow villagers and receiving lollipops to give to Jack! Follow his instructions and you will have the entire set in no time.

Daddy Long Legs - iOS, Android

If you are looking for something a little different, a little addictive and great for filling the time sitting on the toilet pooping all the candy you’ll be eating over Halloween, then look no further than Daddy Long Legs for Android and iOS.

This strange looking game tests you to walk as far as you can. Alas, it’s not as easy as it sounds as the main protagonist - Daddy Long Legs - is as dangly and dainty as can be and walking on two legs certainly isn’t his forte.

This endless runner (though you won’t be doing much running) is tricky and cutesy in equal measures with the sound effects of you falling adding to the overall adorableness as the towering Daddy Long Legs plummets to the ground with little to no grace. You will be swaying and falling until your hearts content with this free to download game that’s available now.
