FuturLab Announces New Sequel in Latest Showcase

It’s safe to say that simulator titles have found their place in the gaming world, with many gamers embracing the strangely calming activity of doing rudimentary tasks while their mind is free to roam. One exemplar in this new genre is undoubtedly FuturLab’s PowerWash Simulator, which has seen a fair bit of popularity alongside some notable partnerships with bigger IPs, such as Warhammer 40,000 and SpongeBob SquarePants. As such, we were thrilled to receive an invitation to their latest showcase of what’s to come.

Before we get into the meat of the showcase, FuturLab itself is a small remote-first game studio based in Brighton, UK, with a mission to become the developer of soothing games. Before releasing PowerWash Simulator, their repertoire consisted of games such as Peaky Blinders: Mastermind, Tiny Trax, and Coconut Dodge.

Now, onto the main event, which you may have already guessed. We are pleased to say the next step for FuturLab is indeed PowerWash Simulator 2! Expanding on the world of Muckingham, the sequel will take you and up to three of your friends — or two players in local co-op — to new locales with much, much more to clean.

Luckily, you’ll be equipped with new Power Washers to make quick work of any stain, including a brand-new soap system that will turn the toughest dirt into soft mush. In addition to the washers, players will also find other handy-dandy cleaning equipment to handle any situation. With the improved visuals and controls, cleaning never felt or looked quite so good.

As your washing adventures are taking you far and wide, it is necessary to have a base of operations, and PowerWash Simulator 2 is happy to provide! With a customisable home base with unlockable collectables and furniture, you can make your cleaning firm stand out and look like your own. That or you can argue about rug placement for hours, I know I will.

Though we don’t have more details at the moment, FuturLab has promised to release information on the new features, content, and more in the coming months. If you simply cannot wait and need to know more, you can catch them at the upcoming GDC!

PowerWash Simulator 2 is set to be released in 2025 for the PC (via Steam, Epic, and Windows Store), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 5 Pro.
