Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022) Short Thoughts #4 - Riot Shields

Some of you may be pleased to know that riot shields are back in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022). You may also be pleased to know that they're still god-tier; they are able to soak up endless enemy gunfire and in return can dish out some serious punishment.

A single solid whack can kill an enemy as they helplessly try to gun you down. Even armoured foes can be brought down in about three — two hits seem to destroy whatever armour they had, and the final hit drops them. What usually takes a full assault rifle magazine can be done in three simple bashes.

It's just a feel-good fun item; it’s part weapon and part equipment. Frankly, it's ludicrous, but I'm glad they kept it similar to its iteration from the original Modern Warfare II. Simply wandering into groups of highly trained assailants and slowly whittling them down with a simple plastic shield is kind of hilarious; it’s just a shame that it doesn't appear much throughout the campaign.
