4 VR Date Ideas for Valentine's Day
Our lives have changed a lot ever since we've basically become one with technology, as it has opened up a lot of unique opportunities that might've sounded too good to be true for our ancestors. One of these new-age situations is long-distance dating, which is notorious for being a difficult situation to be in. Thankfully, we've also got a lot of ways to bypass this, such as owning a VR! Virtual reality is a great way to make you feel like you're side by side with someone who isn't really there. So, for this Valentine's Day, I decided to offer some ideas about how you can enjoy the most romantic day of the year even miles away through an online date! Here are some options, from relaxing to wacky! Without further ado, get your lovey-dovey mixed tapes ready for…
#4 — Tower Unite
I haven't personally gotten around to playing it yet because my wife and I haven't found the time, but Tower Unite is one of the best VR titles if you want to have a lot to do with someone! If you and your loved one are looking for something less romantic and quiet, you can instead spend the day creating wacky worlds or exploring the ones available from the community! Decorate your avatar, go on an adventure together, and spend the day laughing with one of the people you love the most.
#3 — Rec Room
Similarly to Tower Unite, Rec Room offers a lot of exploration and adventuring... except this one is for free! We've also not played this one yet, but it's one of the most beloved and recommended games in VR, so I think it's safe to say you'll have fun! Similarly to Towers Unite, this is a great idea if you want to spend some time together goofing off.
#2 — Bigscreen
Of course, if spending some one-on-one time with your special someone is more important than activities, then Bigscreen is the way to go. Grab some popcorn and sit down on your couch while you jump into scenic rooms with your loved one and watch anything from YouTube to actual movies! And I don't mean old movies that anyone can stream — you can even rent movies or just play something you've downloaded onto your VR headset, such as a movie you own! Bigscreen is one of the best VR experiences I've had with my wife, and I couldn't recommend it more for Valentine's Day!
#1 — Go Golfing!
This next one falls somewhere in the middle, as a date going golfing is both personal and adventurous! VR is great for this, especially since you can even make your own courses and spend as much time there as you want! For this one, I have two suggestions — Golf It! and Walkabout Mini Golf VR; these two titles have very high ratings on Steam, and they offer the ability to create your own courses, which in and of itself sounds like an awesome date.
Having a date on VR is a great way to really spend some quality time together even when you're far apart; technology has offered us a lot of benefits and unique opportunities, including bringing us together. I hope you and your significant other have fun and happy Valentine's Day!
